Region 5 Workshop Highlights

Second Annual Summer Institute for SLPs

For four days in June, Speech Language Pathologists from across Virginia gathered for the Second Annual SLP Summer Institute sponsored by Region 5 T/TAC. Speakers covered topics for the institute that included apraxia, autism spectrum disorder, sensory issues, computer resources and software for therapy, and assessment and treatment of English Language Learners. Additionally, the group of SLPs attending had the option of earning three Non-ASHA approved CEUs through the College of Graduate and Outreach Programs at JMU. Participants experienced active learning and came away with a notebook full of resources and materials for increasing successful therapy. It was a great week!
